As you probably saw all over the Charleston blogger Instagrams’ last week, it was Fashion Week in Charleston. It was the tenth year they’ve put on the event and my second time attending. It really is so much fun to have something to do every night of the week and enjoy spending time with some of my favorite people! There’s so much to see – from street stylers hanging out between the tents to the local retailer showcases inside the tents to the main event: the shows. It’s no NYFW (no reason to pretend!), but it is a lot of really cool/awesome/fun people in one place socializing and having cocktails (it is Charleston, after all).
Let’s break it down…
what I wore
I kept it true to my personal style – neutrals, occasional pops of color, nothing over-the-top trendy, classic, a little masculine, etc. I love seeing all of the different ways people dress for fashion week! There is a little bit of everything.
Night One: My go-to tank, a new Troubadour skirt (fabulous local designer!!!), J.Crew Factory pumps, my lavender clutch, and simple gold jewelry from my favorite home-town jewelry store. I loved sitting with the Charleston Visitors’ Bureau this night – they are the best!
Night Two: I didn’t love the way this one photographed, but I’m obsessed with the top. I pulled together a pair of linen culottes (similar), my new Susana Monaco off-the-shoulder top (doesn’t come off the shoulders when you raise your arms – key!), black wedges (love these!), Christina Jervey cuff necklace (another favorite local designer!!), Clare V. clutch, and more simple gold jewelry from Bashinski
Night Three: My favorite outfit!!!! I actually bought this for my birthday night (diva) and couldn’t wait to wear it again. The pants are alice + olivia (seriously tempted to buy this color), tank is by Myne (this is similar and actually looks great with the pants – I originally ordered it to go together, but realized it was super similar to this top), earrings were borrowed from Candy Shop Vintage (she posts vintage jewelry here), clutch is Clare V. (obsessed with how it matches), same black wedges.
Night Four: Night three was a late one, so I was super tired by Friday night. I pulled this together and ditched my original outfit – new high-waisted and flare J.Brand Marias (size down!), more Tibi tank, black vest (one of my favorite purchases ever! similar option), and an awesome necklace from Celadon (local home store in Mt. P!), Clare V. clutch (again).
Day Five: Bridal day! I wore a long Amanda Uprichard dress (old – here it is in black and on sale!) paired with white tassel earrings (similar), a white vest (similar), Champagne necklace, and my lavender clutch. Tired eyes, you guys, tired eyes.
- Beckett Boutique!!!!
- Tres Carmen
- CHARLESmorgan (personal favorite emerging designer – check out my friend Dannon wearing my favorite dress from the show!)
- Destani Hoffman (winner of the emerging designers!)
- My friend Jeanne showed two amazing pieces in the Art Institute of Charleston Show and before I knew they were hers I chose them as my favorites – so so so beautiful.
I rocked the same pair of sunglasses throughout the week because I just got a new pair from Ditto! If you aren’t familiar, Ditto is a monthly subscription service where you get new sunglasses sent to you whenever you want!!! It’s by far the best subscription service I have tried (okay maybe not Netflix), because there are no time limits and the brands are so good. This specific pair is the Lafayette by Elizabeth and James and I won’t be sending it back anytime soon. If you want to test it out, use code ANNIEREEVES for a free month!
