Fall, more so than the other seasons, brings about a time of refreshing and renewing. For years I’ve been buying new school supplies and new planners and starting the year fresh during this time. In fact, it really holds more of a significance in that sense than New Year’s (that one’s reserved for my mom’s birthday!) because for as long as I can remember I’ve been given a clean slate this time of year.
While I don’t work on a semester schedule anymore, it still feels like the appropriate time to set a few fall goals.
That post 6PM thing is going better than expected but still not as great as I’d hope. It’s time to kick it into high gear.
I know, I know – cliché of the year. But really, during that offline time, I’d like to see myself curling up with my Kindle and lighting my favorite candle (and pouring a glass of red wine) to wind down my nights.
I was having the best time using my spiralizer and trying new recipes earlier this year, and all summer I just wanted to try new restaurants and go out with friends. Any recipes you recommend?
I am setting a serious goal of concentrating and listening and being present when I’m around people or on the phone with people. It’s so easy with all of the social media distractions and busy days to zone out and think about what’s next on the agenda or start browsing the web. I hate that I have started hanging up the phone and not remembering anything we discussed – it’s time for that to change!
BE HONEST + CONNECT.
I have been working on a post that will be coming in the next few weeks with a sincere, state-of-the-heart explanation about where I am in my life right now. Things over here can look nice and pretty – and thank Jesus they are a lot of the time – but that’s just not the everyday truth. I want to be more open with you guys about the struggles I have on a daily basis, and I hope we can connect through that.
