It’s been 3 weeks since we got back from Harbour Island, and I still find myself daydreaming about it on the regular. Relaxing for an entire week with my favorite people in the world was exactly what I needed. Annnnd it didn’t hurt that I was in my favorite place in the world! A lot of people have asked about Harbour Island and our trip, so I’ve rounded up the most important details (followed by a billion photos…).
Where to Stay
We stay at The Dunmore, and it’s the spot we love most in town. The decor is stunning and most importantly the service is insane. I was so sad to leave all of the wonderful employees at The Dunmore because we have the best time chatting with them throughout every day and getting to know them better each year. I could list each one of them and why we love them so much, but it would be a blog post in and of itself. Just know, the service at the Dunmore is top-notch – filled with some amazing people!
This year, most of our favorite meals were at the Dunmore, too! We had dinner there three different times which was more than usual. Their new menu was outstanding, and we’re always happy to hang around there as much as possible.
Where to Eat
Lunch: Sip Sip (the famous lobster quesadilla! Mom loves their curried chicken salad, and the boys are obsessed with the hot dog with conch chili); The Dunmore (mahi tacos or lobster club); Coral Sands (lobster rolls + fries, so good); Ocean Tally (take a boat over to Eleuthera – this was new to us and one of our favorite things. We ended up spending some time in the calm water over there too!); Queen Conch (fresh conch salad – sooooo good. We got for an appetizer one night and brought back to happy hour at The Dunmore 🙂 ); Runaway Hill
Dinner: The Dunmore (the crab and avocado tower was insane, and I ordered the local fish curry twice – best I’ve ever had!); The Landing (the truffle parmesan fries are what dreams are made of); Acquapazza (a little less-known, but we usually eat here more than once. The lobster penne is so good, and they’ll also cook fresh fish from any fishing you may do!); Rock House (we usually just go for dessert as it’s not our favorite for dinner, but people rave about it)
Drinks: Around 5:00 every day, we headed up to the bar at the Dunmore to see Henry. I’ve been trying to track down the rosé they serve there since we got back with no luck. I had a glass almost every single day! The Pineapple Passion is in one of these photos and was really refreshing and delicious. Passionfruit juice, fresh pineapple, mint, simple syrup, and rum blended with ice. Love! Also, Gusty’s for post-dinner drinks and Romora Bay for pre-dinner drinks (great sunset view!).

What to Pack
Everyday, we wore bathing suits/coverups for the entire day, and then came back to shower and get ready and dressed up a bit for dinner. It’s probably not entirely necessary, but it’s always fun to dress up on vacation in my opinion! I also had this great off-the-shoulder dress and favorite pants with me – forgot to save those photos.
Where to Shop
There’s a good bit of great shopping on Harbour Island! I love A&A straw bags/baskets/everything you can imagine on the way out to Romora Bay and Acquapazza. She made me the cutest little beach bag with my initials on it, and there are several things I wish I had brought back from her stand! Also check out: Blue Rooster; The Sugar Mill (India Hicks’s shop); Miss Mae’s; Shine; Coral Sands’ gift shop; Princess Street Gallery; Dake’s
This photo makes me laugh a lot. Likely explaining Snapchat or talking about politics with my awesome dad – ya know, the usual.
Relax 🙂 I read several books, listened to a lot of Kenny Chesney, and spent so much time thinking and praying about the future. It has really assured me that everyone – despite age, job, etc. – needs to take some time off now and then. It was (and I’m not overstating) life-changing!
Maybe I’m a tiny bit biased, but I think I have the best family in the world – abundantly thankful for a group who loves to travel, eat, and laugh together. It makes life a lot more fun!
