And, I mean, eat. I feel super blogger basic admitting it, but I actually love the stuff. While my favorite can be found at The Park Cafe just down the street, I’ve started whipping it up in my own kitchen to save a little money and time.
But, I can tell you my favorite recipe for avo toast – with a little kick, of course.
What you need:
1 ripe avocado
2 slices of bread (I use Ezekiel Bread)
juice of 1/2 lemon
generous pinch each of salt, cayenne pepper, and chili flakes
1 TB olive oil
To prepare, slice and scoop out your avocado into a bowl. Then, pour half of your olive oil and lemon juice on top. Mash with a fork until it is chunky, not smooth. Then, add all of the spices and mix with the fork. I like to top my avocado toast with the remainder of the lemon juice and olive oil, plus one more sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Everyone eats theirs different ways, and this is my personal favorite.
