I arrived back in Nashville from Miami late last night. It was a whirlwind of a trip (that I had the opportunity to take for Glitter Guide), and it was really fun to explore the city for the first time. I will be sharing many more photos and details in the next few days, but I’m slowly posting them on Instagram first!
Traveling is truly one of my favorite things in this world to do. I always seem to have a moment or two when I’m packing up and leaving where there’s a tiny bit of hesitation or dread. When I’m deep in my daily routine, the thought of breaking it up (and reluctantly returning) is a bit unsettling. And, of course, leaving Hasell is the worst (not sure how I’ll be able to cope when it’s a person I’m leaving and not a dog ?)
However, every time the plane touches down I’m reminded of why I love it so much. I’m so much more aware of my surroundings. I’m constantly seeking the prettiest and most inspiring in town. I’m using all of my resources (read: Instagram friends) to scope it all out. I’m snapping photos left and right (which I’ve learned brings me more joy than most any other activity). I feel like I’m seeing things in a whole new way, a completely new perspective, and it leaves me feeling refreshed, inspired, and encouraged.
I did really enjoy my time in Miami, but I’m not sure it’s a place I’ll be running back to anytime soon. What made it so much fun was having so much newness to capture in photos. And, of course, meeting new friends both at the event I attended and over breakfast at The Raleigh.
On the plane flight back, I thought about how I can make travel a priority (who wants to sponsor me?! ?), and where I’d choose to go if I had the chance. In no particular order (and very subject to change), my top ten:
- Chiang Mai, Thailand
- Washington D.C.
- Austin, Texas
- St. John, USVI
- London, England
- Bali, Indonesia
- Paris, France
- Montreal, Canada
- Swiss Alps
- Palm Springs, California
